hola chicas! we'll start our regular private practise sessions at los tarantos next thursday onwards at 7.30 pm. this will be a regular thing (= every week, all month, throughout the year). it will be good to get our feet movin' and probably less dissapointing for daphne as she can finally see some improvement (of course, i'm talking about myself right now).

Thank you for the wonderful ' surprise birthday bash' on Mon night and also for the lovely flowers and vino that came today..it was such a nice surprise to see that after coming in from a full day at work!..You are a bunch of great Flamenco students who love the art genuinely and I am sure you all will get even better and be great Flamenco dancers (as long as you don't give up!)...I never expected this when I first started teaching (more by default) a ' Mon night flamenco beginners class'...See you in class!

Singapore Flamenco Monday Group Surprise....

It was a usual Monday for Daphne, the Flamenco teacher made her way to the classroom at Dance On Us Studio. Little did she know (or more than a little) that the Monday Group had prepared a birthday surprise. After blowing candles, cutting cake and snapping some pictures, lesson went on as usual but somehow, I feel closer with the people of our group....

Its our very 1st outdoor performance in Japanese Garden (i guess the Feria onedoesn't count). Of course, its our usual item - Sevillanas (what else can we perform?? =P) Well, this time round we did some variation.. For the 3rd copla,we actually did a threesome... Yes, basically its 3 person dancing together. The fortunate one, which is the one in the middle, will get to pair with the other 2. How "shiok" is it? hmm.... i wonder....

Let's Begin Our Flamenco Stories here

Oh yes, I think this is the first blog in Singapore solely dedicated to flamenco (correct me if I am wrong). In fact, there is a group of girls (and a very handsome young man) doing Flamenco Dance every Monday evening at Dance On Us Studio. Someone suggested starting an internet group but my experience with internet groups are not always sustainable. This is because groups are made exclusive to their members and people will soon lose their interest, or only 1, 2 fellows contributing to the content while the rest are silent members.

I think blog will be a better place as the content can be made more lively with photos and videos, more options to "decorate" the site to attract people read and contribute to the content.

We shall see more sharings of thoughts from the Monday Group or non Monday group who loves Flamenco Dance.
